1985-1993 studies of political science (main subject), history and sociology at the Universities of Innsbruck and Vienna

Philosophy / Political Science at the Universitiy of Innsbruck (Thesis – The disintegration of Yugoslavia – the crisis, especially, of the political system and the conflicts amongst the Yugoslav élites as main factors for the country’s decay under the consideration of the emerging nationalism as a “created” political instrument)

1994-1997 and again since 2003 Academic Researcher at the Institute of Conflict Research Vienna; Fields of research/interest: the areas of former Yugoslavia; Middle East; political participation of immigrants, civic and citizenship education, elections.

1998-2003 member of the OSCE Mission to Croatia - between 2002 and 2003 head of the Political Unit at Mission HQ-Zagreb

1996-2008 Election Observer for the OSCE and EU in the Balkans, Georgia; Palestine, Yemen and Cambodia

since 2006 member of Ideaz and consultant for Jane’s Sentinel

since 2007 member of the Transfuse Association
