The motto of our first meeting was “Toward a Poly/Post – Centric World” world. We adressed the following questions:

• To what extent can the important centre/periphery distinction which has allowed us to conceptualize dependency be replaced by a conception of network?
• Are there alternative approaches and forms of organisation of academic work in North and South? How inter- and transdisciplinarity can support these efforts?
• How we can pluralize the academic discourse?
